Pity, I was hoping you guys would have also tackled the issue with DMD2, Nor7e, and other tablet users.

Kurviger is still only useful in portrait mode. In landscape format, things are still getting „cut off“

Hey

All the info is there, right, or am I missing something?

Or do you mean the 01 01 on the left towards the A66??
I wanted to switch to a tablet next season… that’s why I’m asking.

Exactly, waypoint names are being cut off.

that’s due to the position of the box

the question is, does the text actually provide an advantage for navigation?
All the data for turning is right there.

I just can’t test it live right now.

For me, the full display of the waypoint name is essential. For others who just drive from A to B, perhaps not.

I’ve had a completely black map view twice now with Android Auto. For example, when I went into the Kurviger settings in Android Auto and then back to the map view, it was black. The other elements with the route and turn-by-turn information, as well as the buttons, were there. I then opened the Android Auto app launcher, restarted Kurviger through it, and the map view was back. I didn’t have this issue with the previous version.

I’m using the Kurviger app via Android Auto with the Chigee AIO 6 Max and a Pixel 11 Pro.

Best, Uwe

Yes, this has happened to me several times even in previous versions. Also, sometimes when repeatedly switching Android Auto on and off, Kurviger stops showing configured overlays on map apart from the current planned route and the red recording line.

Can someone please double-check this? The SP in the navigation are unreadably small for me.

The fact that SPs are displayed smaller than VPs is intentional, according to my last update.
When marked as “passed”, transparency is also added, which makes it really tight for SPs.
However, SPs only play a very minor role on the map anyway.

I think Mini SP is great.

Just right for the function.

They’re only for modeling the route, so pretty unimportant

Hmm. Dug out an old test route, since it’s beta testing after all. The use case is a break = “Let’s see what else comes up..”.

 ![ScreenMaster_20261018_091148](https://forum.kurviger.com/uploads/default/original/3X/4/6/46810d85d82be14693d490ac78ec335f2d0e77a0.jpeg)

I’ll wait for a reply from the team. I was recently playing around with font sizes on my smartphone, but set everything back to normal and double-checked on a second smartphone. Whoever suggests “just go to edit route” is going to get overtaken by me.

I mean “unimportant” in that view.

The via points are important points that need to be visible. And also “hit” if you want to see the entered text.

Shaping points can be small since they’re only for modeling. This way they cover less map information. Sometimes you need a lot of via points. That way you see more.

Therefore, from my point of view, it’s good if they’re small!

</div>

For me, the numbers at the WPs are pretty much irrelevant during navigation — I could completely do without them and make the markers even smaller.

If the points aren’t announced at all and can be skipped at will, their position and therefore the numbers are irrelevant during navigation. I simply don’t even notice them.

> [@Toffel](#):
>
> Usecase say pause = “Let’s see what else is coming ..”.

What comes is what is written in the via points. With shaping points, the information about which direction the route continues is only implicit, but this should also be apparent without SPs and their numbers.

[@moderators](https://forum.kurviger.com/groups/moderators) Should this discussion be moved to a separate thread since it’s not version-specific?

P.S. I would even go a step further and optimize the SKIP function in this regard — but that’s a completely different topic.

</div>

Sorry, that’s a bug. “Unreadable” isn’t a feature, it came in with 3.6.7, and in combination with the pause function, it’s completely unusable like this. The pause function includes clever planning features, like gas station. And if I can’t see what I’m doing and have to switch to planning, something’s going wrong.

Skipping is an open item, that’s separate.

</div>

Planning and navigation regarding small via points (SPs) should be looked at separately.

In planning, I don’t like it. If a via point is accidentally misplaced and creates an unintended loop that you don’t want to drive, you have to zoom in forever to find the WP number to fix the mistake.
Planning becomes more difficult with smaller SPs.

In navigation, I think small SPs are okay. Since I almost never skip, the numbers don’t matter to me at that point.

My two cents …

</div>

I specifically mentioned the “Pause” use case and took screenshots for it. Either get rid of the SP entirely, or / and the pause function as well. SP is needed in complex situations.

The update is annoying. Only half a changelog, and every triviality is now put to a vote, changes made for no reason, loose ends. In that case, I would have gladly waited longer.

Anyone who can show me where someone complained about numbers being too big or readable in SP in the navigation, feel free. And for those who don’t care whether they’re small or large, they certainly didn’t have a problem with the previous state either.
