As mentioned in topic with app crashes. I had turned on overlays for 5 years back. Now I disabled them and navigation starts without problem. Tomorrow I’ll test it on ride.
300 km ride, many stops, app works perfectly 
without overlays.

The current app is less than 5 years old.
Which one are you using? 
I recorded my routes since 2019, then imported them to Kurviger cloud .
