# App: Speed based auto zoom

Isn’t that what distance based auto zoom does already?  
For more zoom can adjust the zoom sliders in settings.

I wrote [elsewhere](https://forum.kurviger.com/t/distance-based-auto-zoom/2481/14) that distance & speed auto zooms could be mixed in many strange ways, mixing them simultaneously doesn’t seem very wise either.

What is the definition of “default” zoom level?

That sounds complicated and error prone, not sure that want to work on such implementation which mixes simultaneously the two auto zoom modes.

Cannot “predict” or implement all these actual road variables in an algorithm.  
Distance based auto zoom remains as the most robust & fine implementation.

Have read already in many forums that users are dissatisfied with speed auto zoom, when map often zooms in and out when speed changes.

Preferably - if possible - should start with a simple workflow without complex implementation or settings.
