Best route settings in general

Hi all. I have been using Kurviger for a while now and am wondering about the best settings to create a roundtrip or a route from a to b. In other words, how can i make a route wich has the best curves, no gravel roads or farm roads, no highways. Wich are the most popular settings?

Hi @eggo.stijkel ,

Welcome to the Kurviger Forum!

Actually, that’s pretty much exactly what Kurviger is good at: finding motorcycle-friendly routes.:+1: So for starters, you don’t really need to change anything in the settings - just leave it on “Curvy” and Kurviger will already pick roads that are fun to ride, avoiding highways and looking for nice twisty roads.

I’m not quite sure what you mean by “farm roads”, but if you want to avoid gravel roads, you can simply select “Unpaved roads” in the avoidance settings.

Ok thank you! So in general, it’s better to use “curvy” instead of “extra curvy”? And i shouldn’t use to many “avoid” options. (Just gravel roads etc.)

The reason for my questions, i used Kurviger on my holiday in Germany and wasn’t always satisfied with the route. In the Netherlands it worked way better. But perhaps it was just bad luck with the roads over there.

this depends on the region/country where you are. In Germany I made the experience that ‘extra curvy’ works quite well, in Slovenia or in the northern region of Italy the same option may lead to really narrow and sometimes unpaved roads. Solution is just to try and see, where you are send to - depending on this experience you may play around with the routing options. Avoid smallest roads can also be an option to miss no curve

Hi, thanks. Perhaps it also depends on wich part of Germany you use. My routes took me to a few main roads or back lanes aswell in the same route. I did use the most curvy option. Perhaps its just a matter of trial and error. I made a few routes at home before my holiday in Germany.
