Feature Request: Possibility to deactivate Recenter timer

Hi all,

for a better handling of forced or intended detours without recalculation I would like to have the option to deactivate the recenter timer.

This would allow for a better temporary overview of the map and your own position while finding a way back to the route.

One could move and scale in/out the map and return to autozoom and ‘navigation view’ by pressing the existing recenter button.

I know it´s already possible to deactivate autozoom and recenter timer with one single switch in the settings. But I don´t want to disable both features in combination because autozoom is essential (at least for me) while navigating a route for a detailed view on intersections.

Regards,
Marco

If you switch off recalculation during navigation (tap on kurviger symbol upper left → settings → navigation → recalculate the route → switch it off) you can zoom manually to a convinient level for you. The crosshair (center) button occurs and remains in the selected zoom level until you tap on in. Then the autozoom is activated again until you manually modify the zoom level again. Does this help oder did I completely missunderstood your request?

Yes, this would be my favorite behaviour.
Actually the same Recenter functionality but without the 20 second timer which kicks in right now.

Sorry, I am getting old. For sure I meant to say to deactivate ‘Automatic recenter and zoom’ :person_facepalming: instead of switching off the recalculation…if you do so you should have exactly what you are looking for :slightly_smiling_face:

Really? I‘m going to test this tomorrow, but I am pretty sure that autozoom does not work if this setting is switched off.

Maybe I‘m getting old too…

I always ride with this option switched off.
I almost never pan the map (too complicated while riding).

If I do not touch the ZoomIn/Out buttons the app dynamically zooms in when I get closer to a turn and zooms out afterwards automatically.

If I ZoomOut or ZoomIn manually, the zoom level remains as I set it.

To reactivate the dynamic zooming on turns, you have to press the “crosshair” button, as @Guenther explained above. That works.

Was haltet ihr davon?

You are completly right. Dont know what went wrong during my test. It works exactly the way I Need it.

From my point of view my thread was senseless because of an user error. Sorry :man_facepalming:t2:

Thanks for the explanations!
