No map on navigation after pause/continue

Hello!

I am having the following issue on a Huawei Mate 10 Pro: after pausing the navigation( to adjust phone volume for example) there is no map in the navigation view, just the route. I have to fully restart the Kurviger app and the map is back until I pause again. Otherwise navigation works, just without a map background. I do not have this on my Pixel 8. Any ideas?

It could be huawei uses its own “android web view” app/engine. something with back door for chinese govt :))

Auf meinem Huawei Mate 20 Pro habe ich ebenfalls gelegentlich keine Karte nach dem Start der Navigation. Dann dauert es viele, viele Sekunden, bis sie dann doch erscheint. Das nervt ganz schön. Ich weiß aber noch nicht, wann und warum sie nicht erscheint,

Do you have a lot of offline regions downloaded on that phone? The more offline data you have, the longer the map needs to initialize. If this only happens on the second start, that would be interesting. We are not aware of any issues in that area, but maybe somebody else has seen this only on the second start?

I did clear the offline maps, reloaded them. On the Huawei it is always the same: first time navigation starts perfectly, every subsequent start (pause/continue or finish/start makes no difference) the map layer is missing. I have to kill and restart the app and navigation starts fine again. Maybe Android version related? It is and older phone with Android 10 afaik. I also did some tests with a Samsung A32, which is lower speced but newer os, no issues there. No issues on my Pixel 8 too.

Ok thanks for reporting this. Could you please share your debug string (settings of the Kurviger App) and make sure you have version 3.5.5 installed. If you don’t have 3.5.5, please try that first.

Otherwise we will dig deeper into the issue, but this might be a hard one to fix.
