Strasse wird nicht übernommen (Badwater Road, NV, (Death Valley))

Hallo

Hallo Zusammen

Hier wäre übrigens noch der Link dazu.
@zaphod_42 danke für deinen Hinweis.
Dann muss ich mir wohl oder übel eine andere Strasse nehmen

Sorry hier jetzt der Link

I guess this point ..

Road is closed for all motor vehicles (environmental protection?).

Changed 3 months ago in Openstreetmap.

https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/49855447#map=10/36.0753/-116.7295

From change record the mapper relates to this site.

I am unable to locate the road in this map. Perhaps you can point to it. When the status has changed, let us know.

On the nps.gov the road is marked in green, so open for all vehicles.

I have the same problem with Jubilee Pass Road 178. Kurviger does not allow a route on this road, though it is open due to nps.gov, google maps, tomtom, etc.

Changed with change record. Needs two to three days to arrive in Kurviger.

A question from my side …

Short link: https://kurv.gr/UWMke

The normal hint would have been to use the beeline. It is hard in this case. It seems to that the error message occurs, when a routable raod is about 5km away from the last point, what might fit for Europe, but not in this case.

The SP must be set in quite short distances and the destination must be extended one by one. Not really nice procedure in this case.

When I extend the destination a little bit too far away and I remove the beeline I get the message:

“So far so good, just put a point in the middle” does not work as I have no option to do so.

Also changing the curvature back to beeline does not work, as the point does not call the dialogue to to change it, but the one for waypoint information.

For now I find no easy way to “fix” the route or make a proposal.

Any ideas?

Option could be a very long beeline, yes, but it feels not good here. https://kurv.gr/bHWdf

The easiest and fastest way to plan a route using an MTB tour as an overlay:

There’s only this one road along the entire route, so you can’t get lost.

Thanks, got it now. Needed some tries to train it again. Quite a lot of try and error with placing and deleting waypoints.

I think the handling as shown above (dialogue for curvature, possibility to add SP/WP) could make life easier.

Please consider: According to

Some parts of Badwater Road are closed since January 2026

Thank you, I will wait and see if Kurviger will correct it.

You’re right, I can’ get lost  . Thank you for your valuable help.

BTW: as mentioned in one of my earlier message, the same error occures with Jubilee Pass Road as well as Artists Drive Scenic Loop. Kurviger seems to have some issues here at the Death Valley….

Hi @HPRW like some other navigation apps, Kurviger is based on Open Street Maps (shirt - OSM) where every user can contribute by updating and correcting data. If you are interested - it does not take long to figure out the basics and then you can also directly contribute to the community.

There are lot of tutorials online, here is an example:

Perfect, I will do so. Sorry, I’m new in these topics…….

I removed the access restrictions yesterday also for this road.

In the meantime routing is possible. But there is a swing gate that I have opened in OSM 11 days ago, but Kurviger still shows old data. I have no idea, somehow it is not updated? Oops, I forgot the wheelchairs (boah), nevertheless ..
