My principal interest is Classic Cars. I own and use my 1972 SAAB 99 EMS for classic car tours. I have recently completed a 1,800 mile classic car tour in the Alsace region of France.

I also orgnaise Classic car events. I find the Furgiver progamme a breath of fresh air as we share the same interests in avoiding Towns, major roads, and motorways. We enjoy the fast-flowing ’ Curvy ’ roads which are generally free of large lorries.

We normally distribute the route details for our Tours in a printed Road Book, but the .gpx file can be used by the event officials, such as the Course Opening and Course Closing cars.

We check the Competitor’s compliance with the route with Code Boards with penalties for missing them.

I use OsmAnd Plus on my Android phone in the car. I also use a GPS Trip Meter App called Offroad Tripmeter 4x4 to follow the roadbook total distances referred to above.

I am keen to learn all the ’ Tricks & Tips ’ that Furviger has to offer which may be helpful in designing suitable routes for the future. I have played around with the Round Trip function in the area around my Home and it has opened a number of possibilities that I never thought of. I still have a number of questions that I would like to ask and would appreciate a Buddy to help me.
