Address search problem

I am a new user of Touring+ but cannot find specific addresses in Ireland using the search function. I have tried switching between the search databases but there is no improvement.
Trying the same addresses in Google maps and Calimoto give a positive return.
Irish postcodes called Eircode also do not appear to work In Kurviger.
I have checked in settings and cannot see any option to expand the choice of search databases, it appears I am limited to the two included in the service.
Can you advise how to resolve the problem of finding specific addresses please.
Thank you.

Can you give some examples that do not work as you expect?
Are you searching using the website or the app? In case of the app, also “debug Information” found at the bottom of the “Settings” would be helpful.

I solve such problems in the following way: In the PC browser, I click with the right mouse button on the position on the google maps map, and in the window that opens, I click on the coordinates in the top line. This copies them to the clipboard. You can paste these into the Kurviger search field and insert the position found as a shaping point or intermediate destination.

Copying the coordinates should also work with maps on the smartphone. But for me, the coordinates are only displayed very briefly on the maps map after a long press on a position, so I can’t copy them. I’ll have to experiment with that.

However, I use the map bookmark app myself, which does this very well, but it’s no longer available in the playstore.

I have tried both the app and the website.

Post codes examples
P24 E297
F94 NP93

Address examples
21 The Spires Cobh
Bellavista hotel Cobh
A1-K9 knockraha cork

GraphHopper and openrouteservice are the data bases available for searching.

The post codes and addresses work in Google maps.

Tried copying the co ordinates from google maps and pasting into the app search window.

App cannot find the location in either database

Out of the three places above, (I think) I managed to find one using Kurviger:

Then I went to the websites of the providers:

My conclusion is - you cannot find these places as they have not been mapped in the OpenStreetMaps. Apparently, the public good like OSM is not very popular in Ireland, at least not in this region.

If you compare the areas from
Google Maps:

and
OpenStreetMaps:

you will notice that parts of the streets in front of the hotel are missing and there is no indication that there is a hotel there. If you take an even closer look - you will see that many buildings in the area do not even have house numbers.

So, although I personally think that Kurviger search function has much room for improvement, in this specific case it appears that the underlying data is missing.

I do it with this address:

  • Insert coordinates with CTRL-V

  • click on the entry below

  • the point is marked and you can insert it as a waypoint
