This is the feedback thread for the Kurviger Android App update 3.6.4. We are looking forward to your feedback!
If you would like to request a feature or report an issue, I would kindly ask you to create a separate thread for this as it can get a bit hard to follow the discussion in one huge thread. This thread is about discussing the features that we have implemented with this update https://docs.kurviger.de/changelog
Zoom by physical dedicated zoom buttons?
Is it possible to have zoom function in Kurviger for Android mapped to physical zoom buttons? Some Android devices like the DMD Nor7e, DMD-T865X and DMD-T880X have physical zoom buttons. These devices are gaining traction in the Adventure motorcycle segment.
Zoom by remote control to Android tablet works and functions as expected with Kurviger on the DMD Nor7e tablet.
I drove this week with the new version and a couple of things could be better. I drive with a DMD-865x in landscape mode. As with previous version the rortation was an issue I now have rotation control pro installed to prevent rotation. It doesn’t always listen perfectly but in general it works.
What I like is the better contrast in speed information and directions.
however the arrival time rectangular is quite big and annoyingly over the position dart. With kurviger on my samsung phone it’s better.
Also when you open the three dots screen for extra functions the red close navi button falls behind the android bottom bar.
What I miss in the navigation is to change the route profile with an active route and to have some of the boxes scalable. On a tablet there is quite some space and the speedo indication could be bigger and being able to put it where you want (more on top of the screen ) would be lovely.
The request is “Is it possible to have zoom function in Kurviger for Android mapped to physical zoom buttons”?
Reason is that physical, dedicated zoom buttons exist on DMD Android tablets DMD Nor7e, DMD-T865X and DMD-T880X. These devices all have the basic media control/ volume buttons, but as they have physical zoom buttons, mapping zoom to those are intuitive. By comparison, Google Maps, GPX Viewer Pro, Locus map and of course DMD2 all zoom the map by the physical zoom buttons that exist on these DMD Android devices.
As the button mapping for zoom in Kurviger isn’t available to re-adress for the user, it would be nice if the coding was provided by Kurviger for this.
There seems to be a problem with some tablets where Kurviger’s incorrect orientation is loaded. We’re already aware of that and on it
@Bjorn
Thank you for the additional explanation - I misunderstood. Currently Kurviger does not support physical zoom buttons. We might have a look at that in future
