Android tablet probably identified as a phone

I use a cheap Oukitel 8" Android tablet for navigation in a rally holder that doesn’t allow vertical operation (it would cover all the instruments on my CRF300). The app won’t switch to landscape mode, however – my guess is that Oukitel defines the tablet as a phone.

Is there a way to force tablet mode? I couldn’t find anything in the settings. Apart from that the performance on my first route this afternoon was great. The voice navigation was sooo much better than Google, the route was excellent and recalculation was VERY fast when I took a wrong turn (looking at you DMD2!!).

The app now workes in both modes - landscape and portrait also on the phone.

During navigation an additional button appears and needs to be pressed when changing between portrait and landscape (and back).

In the planning mode it should switch immediately.

Is your screen orientation locked?

Navigation (with the button for changing orientation):

Ah…it‘s working now. I activated the Tourer mode quickly in a café before I set off for the first time and it was stuck in portrait. Now it’s working fine. Great — I was concerned it would be portrait only…

The tablet isn’t orientation locked. I’m not sure what happened. I probably overlooked the switching icon when putting it in the mount.
