The Kurviger app used to have a setting for a four-mile voice reminder. That way, on long stretches, the app would remind you that it was still awake with a voice prompt. That seems to be missing in the beta app. Is there a plan to add that in the future?
We could add something like this again, if there would be enough interest for such a feature

I liked it because I never looked at the route on my android. I had the android in my pocket with the screen off, just listening. Being on a 100km stretch it was nice to hear of the upcoming turn every few minutes.
Also a vote from me.
I’m still very interested in this feature and am wondering if it is on the “to do” list for upcoming app versions. I was hoping it would be implemented before June.

Thanks for the response. I realize that there are routing, communication, and timing features that are much more important and need to be sorted out first. I’m just glad to know it’s on the “to do” list.

I have tried the offline maps in airplane mode with no data or wireless, voice only. It works perfectly. I just wondered if the 4 mi (6 km) voice reminder is still on the to do list.

I have another long ride planned in August. It was easy to lay out routes for all 10 days ahead of time. Thanks, Kurviger developers. But I would still like to see the return of the 4 mile voice reminder.

I just returned from a 3000-mile ride. During this ride there were a few days with temperatures exceeding 100F (38C). At those high temperatures Kurviger stopped working on the phone and the phone indicated a high-temperature partial shutdown. If Kurviger had the 4-mile reminder, I would have known the app had stopped before it was too late and I would not have missed a turn. I built a refrigerator with freezer blocks and my quilted coat liner to keep the phone alive in my tank bag.
Having the 4-mile reminder would have helped tremendously for those days.
Thanks for the update and I am sorry to hear about that. We still have more improvements for this topic planned.
I just got the reminder for my subscription renewal. I had a stroke in March and lost the right-side peripheral vision in my right eye. That was the only symptom i had but I’m concerned that I will not recover that field of my vision. A bad scene if Mr. Deer comes darting in from the right. I had hoped that the 4-mile reminder would have been implemented by now but it hasn’t happened. Too bad. I don’t know what my riding future looks like. I renewed anyway because I think that Kurviger is still an outstanding ride planner and navigator even without the 4-mile warning. I have had years of good use from it and it deserves our support.

By the way, I voted already fof this feature . In my opinion an underestimated helper to stay informed without having to look at the screen. Would be more relaxing for me with the reminder.
