Nachdem BMW selbst durch das CONNECTED RIDE CRADLE eine Smartphone-Alternative zum BMW-Navigator anbietet, habe ich mir das Ganze mal angesehen.
Zunächst muss ich erklären, dass ich selbst keinen BMW-Navigator nutze, sondern ausschließlich mit meinem Sony XZ2 und der Kurviger App navigiere. An meiner GS ist auch keine “Vorbereitung Navigationsgerät” installiert. Also für mich alles chic!
Aber einer meiner Spezl besitzt 4 BMW-Motorräder unterschiedlichen Alters und daher mit verschiedenen Navigations-Adaptern. Er möchte auf Smartphone-Navigation umsteigen, dabei gerne die Halterung und Stromversorgung dieser Adapter nutzen. Also ist naheliegend, das CONNECTED RIDE CRADLE zu verwenden. Gekauft für 249 €!
Aber: nur auf dem neuesten Bike (und dem aktuellen Adapter) lässt sich das Cradle überhaupt montieren!
Also wieder verkauft für 218 €!
Mit ein wenig Glück und intensiver Internet-Suche fand ich dann das hier:
Es handelt sich um ein “China-Cradle”, das komischerweise auf alle Adapter passt. Die Stromversorgung klappt einwandfrei. Allerdings fehlt das induktive Laden nach QI-Standard und die Bluetooth-Funktionalität (Stichwort: Multi-Controller). Dafür bekommt man dieses Cradle jedoch für nahezu 10 % des “Originals”.
Hier die Bezugsquelle und ein Erfahrungsbericht. Interessant fand ich diesen Kommentar zu Letzterem:
Mein Freund hatte bereits den dritten Navigator V (zweimal ausgetauscht) und ist auch mit dem Navigator IV nicht glücklich geworden. Natürlich muss er sich nun an die Kurviger App gewöhnen, macht aber gute Fortschritte! Und wir beide haben jetzt die absolut gleiche Route bei gemeinsamen Touren.

Since BMW itself offers a smartphone alternative to the BMW Navigator through the CONNECTED RIDE CRADLE, I took a look at the whole thing.
First I must explain that I myself do not use BMW Navigator, only navigate with my Sony XZ2 and the Kurviger app. On my GS is also no “preparation navigation device” installed. So for me all chic!
But one of my buddies owns 4 BMW motorcycles of different ages and therefore with different navigation adapters. He wants to switch to smartphone navigation, thereby like to use the holder and power supply of these adapters. So is obvious to use the CONNECTED RIDE CRADLE. Bought for 249 €!
But: only on the latest bike (and the latest adapter) the cradle can be mounted at all!
Sold for 218 €!
Then with a little luck and intensive internet search I found this:
It is a “China cradle”, which strangely enough fits all adapters. The power supply works perfectly. However, inductive charging according to the QI standard and bluetooth functionality are missing (keyword: multi-controller). However, you can get this cradle for almost 10% of the “original”.
Here is the source of supply and a review. I found this comment on the latter interesting:
Translation: If I didn’t already have this damn nav, I’d have this alternative. Memo to self: You never buy BMW’s Navigator again. Those who have it know what I mean.
My friend has already had the third Navigator V (replaced twice) and has not been happy with the Navigator IV either. Of course, he now has to get used to the Kurviger app, but is making good progress! And we both now have the absolute same route when touring together.
