Connect to beeline moto

Hi there,

do you ever thought about to connect with beeline moto?
I think it would be a nice alternative to follow the navigation at least during heavy weather conditions as this device is handling that easily.

Best regards

Well, I was about to ask the same question.

I love Beeline Moto’ navigation display. I love Kurviger’s routing algorithm.

In an ideal world I’d have Beeline’s navigation display driven by Kurviger’s routing system.

Is such an integration on the road map? If not, may I propose to evaluate?

Best regards,
Markus

It would be certainly interesting to evaluate the options. The biggest issue is, that Beeline isn’t open, so we would probably need some form of specification from Beeline to include this feature in our app and that would also require Beeline to be interested in this as well.

The biggest issue is that with every integration, it needs to be maintained and tested with every update, and in this case also every update of Beeline. So there would be a massive overhead.

I am not saying no, but we would need quite some people that are looking for this to even look into this and discuss options with Beeline. And so far there hasn’t been a huge demand for that.

Thank you for letting me know.

What’s possible up to now - and it’s really working fine! - is to import GPX files from Kurviger into the Beeline App. Have tested this with my wife, who is using Kurviger on her smartphone while Iā€˜ve used her planning with the Beeline App.

Jep, Iā€˜ve been doing that. Works nicely when you do not leave the track exported from Kurviger. It works but I was interested in using route recalculation. When Kurviger uses a different route, I would like Beeline to adopt to it.

I have to agree, exporting from Kurviger and importing it into Beeline works well.

I am also fascinated by this reduced visualization, though I would surely not be happy for situations in a curvy area. Happily, I was not infected by the Black-Friday-virus. :face_with_thermometer:

Let us think vice versa. If Kurviger would offer such a reduced visualization - would it be the same for you?

I am realistic, that this is probably nothing, what would be implemented in the next time, just for curiosity, what you think about it.

Well, what intrigues me is not only the minimalistic display. I really love the rugged nature of the Beeline device.

My riding is around the year in all weather conditions. A mobile phone mounted to the handlebar is my sat nav of choice.

And here is the problem. At such an exposed location the phone shuts down regularly in heavy rain. My solution to that is carrying the phone in my pocket during rain and navigate by audio only.

This has its own set of issues. Occasionally the phone dies and I miss a turn. Ah well, the joy of travelling. Builds character, I suppose. :grimacing:

Coming back to your question, I am very happy with Kurviger’s navigation display. A Beeline lookalike navigation display is nothing I am looking for.

I fully understand that Beeline integration is at a low priority. While I would appreciate it, I have a workaround: planning in Kurviger and importing the resulting GPX track into Beeline. Kurviger provides audio navigation, Beeline provides visual navigation. It is a cumbersome process but it works well enough. There is even a benefit to it, redundancy by two independent navigation systems.

Thank you so much for your interest and support.

Hi Markus,

I have something to say about your comments that your phone switches off in the rain or even for no reason. This is not normal behavior of a good smartphone and I have been driving with a Samsung smartphone for many years now and cannot confirm any of the problems you described.

Wouldn’t an Android Auto Display be something for you?

I don’t even know what that means. :grimacing: Wouldn’t I need some sort of electronic display in the cockpit? Hence exposed to weather.

I am riding an Ural sidecar rig.

Meaning that there is no modern cockpit. My sat nav gear is mounted to the handlebar, not integrated into the bike.

I must confess that I am using an Apple device. I’ve had my fair share of complaints regarding water in the lightning connector. Meaning that the phone no longer charges, leading to a flat battery two or three hours later. Leaving me without navigation. I even started to carry paper maps again. It is a lot of fun using them in rain.

Right now I am using SP Connect to fix my mobile phone to the bike. Quit nice product. Having said that, if there is a waterproof option bases on Android Auto or the Apple equivalent, I would love to hear about it.

Ok I understand

Take a look at the following device.

Thank you very much. I will have a look at the device.

Does Kurviger support Apple Car Display?

Yes, and I assume that CP will come in 2025.

Thank you so much for your support.

Hey there, I know this post started already almost 5 years ago, but it’s still up-to date! It would be awesome if there would be an integration of curviger with beeline. dunno if this will ever happen. But the beeline plus ist not really an option - I tried it for 4 weeks now. Kurviger is way beter in terms of finding ā€œcurvy streetsā€. I really do like the kurviger algorythm and tracking. On the other hand I don’t like a bulky navigation device nor my phone on my 31 yr old retro-bike. So I am in a dilemma … aaaahhh

Maybe soon there will be an kurviger minimalistic navigation device? A little competition on the market myght be nice … but sure, it has to be worth the developement time and effort.

Y’all have a great weekend and always stay up and drive safe.

I don’t think we will be launching any hardware soon

Ok. Thank you for the fast response.
