Could the description field also be shared/exported?

Hi there,
Hi Forum

My buddy and I are both using Kurviger with a Tourer+ subscription, and we’ve been planning our routes for a longer trip in June meticulously. As part of our preparation, we’ve added some comments to each route.

However, we’re wondering if there’s a way to share these routes, along with the comments we’ve added, between our Kurviger accounts. thanks a ton in advance!

Cheers!
Clemens

Hi Clemens and welcome to the Kurviger Forum!

Great idea to plan routes together – makes the preparation more exciting!

Unfortunately, there is currently no option to save comments in routes and share them between Kurviger accounts. Route descriptions are stored locally in the respective browser and are not exported or synchronized with the route.

A possible workaround could be to export the route in .kurviger format and additionally keep a text file or a shared document (e.g., Google Docs) with your comments.

However, collaborative planning was submitted as a feature request already, so we will have a look at it

Hi Kira,

Thank you for your response, I really appreciate it. I wanted to share my thoughts on the matter of local storage.
From my perspective, the comments are not only stored locally. Although I do the planning on a Windows PC with a browser, when I open the tour on an Apple device like an iPhone or iPad, I can still see the comments. This indicates that the data is at least synchronized between devices using the same account.
Given this, it might be possible in the future to also explore exporting the data in some manner as a new feature. This could enhance usability this great tool.
Thanks again for your input!
Cheers,
Clemens

Hi Clemens,

Yes indeed - my mistake! Of course you are right and the description is not stored locally but in the Kurviger Cloud. Still, it is not possible to transfer this information with the route at the moment.
Thank you for the input - as I said, we’ll have a look at this.

And only there - the description will not be exported up to now.

To share the planning of a tour the best approach is to use an “open” cloud system (Dropbox, Google, …) with the option to share the content. I do this since 2019 - see Access web route from app - #9 by zaphod_42

In 2025 eight riders are able to contribute to this directory:

All routes are exported .kurviger files in a sub-directory - the .txt file contains details.
