Feature Request: Refresh option “Planned for the Future” Routes

Hello,

I use your app a lot and I have to say it’s the best motorcycle navigation app. Thank you for your work!

I want to share one experience. I usually plan a route on my iPhone, then save it to “Planned for the Future,” and load it on my motorcycle device. It happened that (probably due to poor GSM coverage) despite saving it correctly on my iPhone, the route wasn’t visible on my motorcycle device, even though the list loaded correctly.

Therefore, I propose adding a refresh gesture to the “Planned for the Future” route screen or a “refresh” option in the menu. There is a “Restore” option there, but it’s disabled.

Such a refresh with appropriate feedback would indicate that the problem is with the network, not the app.

Thanks! Artur

Hi @Artur77,

Thanks for the input!
I assume by “motorcycle device” you mean another device where you open the Kurviger app?
On one hand you can already see on the device if you’re offline. Isn’t it pretty clear that one cannot access the cloud then or assume it is up to date already then? However, a “refresh” could be an option to make it clearer but I don’t think another button would be necessary for it: At the moment many apps use the “pull down” gesture.

Hello Kira,

Yes, I use an Android device on my motorcycle.

The behavior was as follows:

  • the device was online
  • the route list was loading (loader + list appears)
  • my new saved route still wasn’t on the list.

I’d prefer it to say, “Hey, we’re having a problem with the network or something else” rather than just display the list without my new route.

There’s no refresh gesture on this screen on either iOS or Android. It would be helpful. Currently, you have to go back to the menu, reopen the “Scheduled for Future” list, and hope it refreshes

In a case like this – which is usually an exception – I would simply close the app properly rather than just moving it to the background. Provided there is a network connection, everything should load when you reopen it.

If the list just didn’t load while you were online, that shouldn’t be fixed with a button I think; it sounds more like the app froze or something. You got out of that situation by opening the folder in the cloud once again?
If that happens again while you are online, please try and delete local data. (Settings → scroll down → delete local data).
