Please consider adding options to reposition the speedometer (top-left or top-right) and to increase its size in both Navigation and Follow modes.
At the moment, the speedometer is relatively small and positioned low on the screen, which makes it difficult to read at a quick glance while riding. The speed display is an important safety and usability element — particularly for motorcycle users, where it’s often quicker and safer to glance at a handlebar-mounted phone than at the bike’s physical speedometer. GPS-based speed is also typically more accurate.
From an accessibility and usability perspective, allowing users to resize and reposition the speedometer would better support different rider setups, screen sizes, and visual needs. This is especially noticeable in Follow mode, where there is significant unused screen space and the UI could accommodate a larger speed display without impacting navigation clarity.
Overall, this feels like a small, optional UI enhancement with a meaningful improvement to readability, accessibility, and user experience.
Just to clarify, I’m referring to the current speed / speedometer display (GPS speed), not the speed limit indicator.
The speed display already exists in both Navigation and Follow modes. The request is about being able to reposition and optionally enlarge that existing speedometer, particularly in Follow mode where there is a lot of unused screen space and the speed readout ends up quite small and low on the screen.
This isn’t about showing speed limits without a route — it’s purely about visibility and ergonomics of the current speed display while riding.
thanks for the feedback and for explaining the use case so clearly.
In general, we view the on-screen speed as additional information, since usually there is also the physical speedometer available. That said, we regularly collect feedback through user research or forum posts (like yours), and when certain requests come up consistently and reflect broader user needs, we’re definitely open to adjusting the UI.
Thanks for the reply — I appreciate you taking the time to explain the thinking.
Just to add a bit of context from the motorcycle side: for many riders, the on-screen speed isn’t a replacement for the physical speedometer, but a secondary, glanceable reference that’s often easier to read than the bike’s cluster — especially with handlebar-mounted phones and different seating positions.
The intention behind the request is purely configurability: allowing users to optionally reposition and scale the speed display so it can be read quickly without taking attention off the road. This feels particularly relevant in Follow mode, where there’s more available screen space and no turn-by-turn elements competing for attention.
Totally understand the need to balance UI simplicity, and I appreciate you taking note of the feedback.
