The Ferry Crossing from Troon to Brodick (Arran) will not be selected by kurviger.
I think it is blocked because a lot of the roads in the port are tagged with access=private. As far as I understand @boldtrn it should be tagged as “customers”:
Currently I can not change them myself (doing that touch device is very uncomfortable, and there are several roads to change) - perhaps someone using a PC / MAC can do that, or I can do it later.
Correct, if the road is accessible if you have a ticket customers would be the correct tagging .
@AlexandraWinter : Tagging the roads in the port with access=customers was ok, but it takes a few days until Kurviger takes over the changes.
If you go to “Settings” and scroll down, you see the timestamp of OSM data:
Another note on ferries, if you have No Tolls selected in Avoidances then ferries will be excluded. I believe that No Tolls should still allow ferries unless people do not understand that most ferries are not free?
Thanks for the information, I didn’t exclude ferries in kurviger.
Thas correct but the roads through the terminal will not be selected.
I know, I was referring to the No Tolls Avoidances.
This is not correct, this will exclude ferries that are tagged with toll=yes
. This is currently a bit weird and should be improved in the future. Most ferries should still be used as the toll=yes is not that common on ferries, but this really depends on the area.
Thank you for the clarification. I ran into this in Scotland and apparently there are several ferries tagged as toll=yes.
