I am very sure (99,9%) it used the name-tag from wpt before.
Cannot exactly say when I used it, may be one year ago. The file may be old, but I guess, the format was used until the change of the export last year. It is pure “gpx”. In newer files also information “type” (shaping, wpt, start, destination) are included.
Does not really matter. As wpt are sufficient to create a route, it would be nice, the name is used.
And even type (wpt, shaping) for newer files. Just checked with one of my test files (July 24) - type is also not used (anymore?), every point is imported as wpt. As I said, random file from Internet - and wow - it is a Kurviger- file
