Improvement Suggestions

Four suggestions or requests:

  1. I think this is already on the development table. The POI icons are a little small for old eyes. Please provide a way to adjust POI size on navigation map.
  2. Please add public toilet icons maybe they are already there? If possible free toilets should have a different icon from paid toilets. These would also be useful for older riders.
  3. At the bottom center of the navigation screen show the street name with highway numbers. Always useful for confirming you are on the correct street.
  4. Last week, I was reading through the Osmand thread at https://advrider.com/. One user posted he is using Osmand just for the OBD2 monitoring for temp and battery voltage. I know this has been discussed before I just mention this because I would also like to see OBD2 monitors available.

I suppose maybe I should have broken these out in separate posts?

For a workaround please see Overpass Turbo POIs

Or you search in planning ..

Hello @SonWon

Thank you for the feedback!
The icons shown during active navigation are based on OSM POIs and aren’t exactly the same as those you see in the planning view. Since there are a large number of POIs on the map, increasing their size across the board could quickly make the map feel cluttered or distracting during navigation. That said, we understand the need for better visibility, especially in certain conditions, and it’s something we’ll keep in mind as we continue improving the navigation experience.

As already mentioned, you can search for public toilets along your route in planning view. During active navigation toilets are shown as a symbol on the map too:

Regarding additional information on the navigation screen: this is always a bit of a balancing act, as different users prioritize different details. We recently redesigned the navigation UI to better accommodate these varying needs while still keeping enough map visibility. Finding the right balance between useful information and a clear, uncluttered map is something we’re continuously working on.

4.At the moment, though, our focus is very much on navigation and mapping features. Integrating vehicle diagnostics like OBD2 would go quite a bit beyond that scope, so it’s not something we’re currently planning.

Thank you for the reply.

The updated user interface is great!

I would like to know the road name it could just be one line at the bottom of the screen with a toggle to not show if it bothers people. I think when toggled on you would want to bump the navigation point upwards to better clear the name.

OBD2 metrics could also be a toggle and on the right side of the screen. I think most users would only want two metrics at the most. maybe three.

Anyway it is a great product just wishing it provided a little more features to better match my wants.
