IOS - voice instructions / issue

Scene:

While driving I only want to get voice instructions and I’m depending on the information I get.

I don’t want to have psychical, visual access to the phone.

In terms of functions and intuitive handling I see a killer iOS app - I’m really impressed :+1:.

Running Tourer+ on IOS 17.5.1

Having said that let me point at a couple of issues:

a)

When receiving a phone call the voice instructions does not appear automatically again after the call, it has been disabled and does not start when being enabled.

A route restart is necessary to get back to normal voice instructions mode.

This is a consistent behaviour and very inconvenient when driving a MC.

b)

when performing consecutive tests like in a) it get’s wild.

The voice navigation comes back randomly even when disabled and vice versa. This results in full disabling of sound on the iPhone and sound can’t be regulated by sliding or with the side buttons. An iPhone reboot is required to get back to normal operation.

c) This is a suggestion only:

when a route recalculation is being performed I hear a low click.

Remember I have no visibility to map while driving so a short voice message like “recalculating new route” would be helpful

Thanks for reporting this, we will have a look at this.

Can you clarify how you disabled them? Via the “…” menu? Or using the slide button?

Yes I understand, once you know the sound, it is very nice IMHO, but I totally get your point. Especially if you have no map, it might feel weird.

Thank you for looking into this.

It wasn’t a structured approach, but anyhow I hit something the app didn’t like.

When the voice instructions disappeared after a phone call ref. above, I tried several times to get it working:

a)through the app menu (… End, Skip, Overview etc) and
b)through the iPhone sound slider and side buttons.

Solved with iPhone reboot.

It’s indeed a nice recalculation feature  - but having helmet noise the low click is not audible. So … ?
