Italian translation for avoid motorways

Ah, thanks for reporting this. @Enrico_Sartori mentioned that the translation for the highway avoidance was wrong so we changed that. What would be the right translation for these two avoidances?

Wrong Road classification

If you set motorway avoidance level = 2, complete SS47 is used: Increasing Level = 3 some segments are avoided - from my point of View thats right, because they are tagged as highway=trunk, some segments even with motorroad=yes. Please consider: “Avoid motorways” does not mean “Avoid highways” or “Avoid Autostrada”, but means something like “Avoid faster roads”.

Autostrade are always toll roads
the exact name is the one described here:

from my point of view (which could be wrong) it should be
Evita strade a pedaggio (ok = Autostrade A[n°] and similar)
Evita Strade Principale ( = STRADA EXTRAURBANA PRINCIPALE, STRADA EXTRAURBANA SECONDARIA, STRADA URBANA DI SCORRIMENTO)

Motorway = Autostrada ? es A14 A22 … ?
Main Road = STRADA EXTRAURBANA PRINCIPALE, STRADA EXTRAURBANA SECONDARIA, STRADA URBANA DI SCORRIMENT ?

I learned that I only select avoid toll roads to avoid Autostrade.

That’s not true, the A28 for example is a “Autostrada” but is toll free

There are also toll-free highways and similar roads, so that doesn’t help, such as Me-Bo. I also don’t want to drive on Fi-Pi-Li if I want to enjoy a beautiful route.

For me, the previous wording was perfect. Not all highways are toll roads, and not all toll roads are highways. The current wording is misleading.

I would also like to point out that the correct translation of “Way point” would be “Punto di passaggio” or “Tappa”, not “Via punto”, but since the English term is also the most used by Italians, feel free to use the English version “Way point” as you already do with “Shaping point”.

So you are saying, “via point” would be better than “via punto”? Waypoints mean all points, including via points and shaping points. “Punto di passaggio” is a bit long, but if that is the right word, we can see if we can fit this in. WDYT?

My bad, I really meant “via point”.
“via punto” has no meaning in Italian, better the correct English version
