Lost waypoints when pause without 4G

Hello, I would like to report an issue.

While traveling, I reach an intermediate waypoint, often in the mountains with no Wi-Fi or mobile signal.
If I pause and resume the navigation, or edit the waypoints, the entire route disappears.

When I return to an area with 4G coverage, and I pause and resume again, the route reappears.

:pushpin: Would it be possible to save the route locally on the device?
Thank you!

If you will be riding in areas where you are offline, the best practice is to switch off the automatic route recalculation. Any alteration to the route in the planning mode will trigger the recalculation - this is what you are experiencing when the route disappears. Route recalculation currently requres you to be online, as the router is located on a srever, not on the phone.

You can save the routes for offline use by exporting them to “.kurviger” format. Currently it is not possible to automatically resynchronize your cloud storage locally for offline use. I hope this comes.

Also explore the usage of “Route history” function - it is a quick way to have your routes available offline. I personally do not like to rely on this function as it apparently has some “special cases”, where it does not behave as expect it to, but most of the time it is fine.

Can I suggest disabling automatic route recalculation by default when there is no internet connection?
This would solve the issue at the app level, avoiding unexpected changes during offline navigation. What do you think?

Actually, not a bad idea, but it is not so black and white. Sometimes the connection appears to be present, but it does not actually work. I use the app mostly without recalculation (you can trigger it manually if needed), but I also do not ride much in areas without coverage, so I am not familiar to what extent this problem can be mitigated by optimizations. @boldtrn - any comments?

Offline router would be the right solution, but it is not yet implemented.

Quick solution suggestion for the Kurviger Android app:
Perform a ping to the routing server.
If there is no response, disable the “Edit” button to prevent user frustration.

It is actually, you can undo the last change or even load older routes from the route history. Both is possible without an internet connection.
