Maximize screen space for map display on Android Auto

I can also confirm following:

:one: Deleting all WPs one-by-one

  • load any route
  • delete all waypoints one by one, effectively deleting the route
  • start and end follow mode
  • :x: last Start- and End-Point (before deleting them) reappear
  • :white_check_mark: no error message is displayed im my case.

:two: Leaving only Start-Point undeleted

  • load any route
  • delete all waypoints one by one, except the Start-Point
  • start and end follow mode
  • :x: End-Point and the route will reapear
  • :white_check_mark: no error message is displayed im my case.

:three: Delete route, then add Start-Point

  • load any route
  • delete the route using the dedicated menu option
  • place only the Start-Point on the map
  • start and end follow mode
  • :x: Start-Point will disappear
  • :white_check_mark: no error message is displayed im my case.

@boldtrn I still need to test how it behaves with the AA, but if route keeps reappearing when the follow mode is stopped on AA display - it would be undesirable (prompting the user to take action on the phone to remove it again).
I see reappearing deleted End-Point (:one: and :two:), but also dissapearing Start-Point (:three:) as (minor) bugs :cockroach: that should be fixed.

Are you still in the free trial period? Then maybe the developers would need to have a closer look if this is causing the error message to appear.

I haven’t even started a free trial of the advanced tiers, so right now I’m using just the free tier. However, my conclusion regarding the error message is that it must be related to my profile rather than the app itself as the error message is the same between my phone and the web UI.

@boldtrn I have performed some tests on AA and have some additional findings:

:four: Buttons on the AA display behave differently

In both following cases, the AA is connected and is showing the start screen with these buttons:

or

  1. :white_check_mark: If I delete the route using the menu - the button on AA changes to “Follow Mode” and phone also offers follow mode
  2. :x: If I delete all the WPs one-by-one - the button on AA remains “Navigation”, whereas at the same time the phone offers only “Follow mode”

:five: AA recovers the route before starting the navigation

  • load any route
  • delete all WPs from the route one-by-one (there is no rute shown, but AA still shows “Navigate” button- see :four:)
  • press “Navigate” button on AA
  • :x: Start and End-Points reappear, route reappears and navigation is started instead of “Follow Mode”

Thanks everyone for looking into this. Yes this is right, we will have a look at this

When you look into it, please also look into making the big buttons smaller or better yet invisible when other buttons are hidden as well. (After all, that’s what got us here.)
