Navigation simulation

  1. When using navigation simulation, how does one adjust the simulated speed?

  2. When using web version, is navigation simulation available? (Not sure if that is something sensible or not, but if it is implemented, how do I start it in the web version?)

It is not possible to adjust the speed value, at moment the value is fix. Maybe in future it will be possible.

No, is not, because web only offers planning mode and no navigation mode.

Hey Thoka,
Thanks for the reply.
I thought I read online somewhere that the simulation speed could be adjusted. Thanks for confirming that there is no speed adjustment.

Having Nav-Simulation on the website seemed nonsensical to me, but I had to ask.

You can also use external apps (e.g., “Mock Locations”) that can fake your GPS position and allow you to simulate navigation and adjust the speed. I personally find them too complicated for everyday use (simulating real planned routes), so I use the simulation only when I try to reproduce a bug in the App on a short section. Simulating a real route would require several hours at the speed of 45km/h and also there is also no :rewind::fast_forward: buttons to fast forward or rewind to the intetesting places…
so, yeah… quite limited usability, but also quite limited user interest for this feature.

But, when I think of it… @boldtrn would it be complicated to implement a slider control (like seek bar in media player) to “teleport” the simulation to a chosen location of the route? I know it would be a low priority, but if it is not a high effort, it would improve the usability of the simulation.
