Navigon Export - why is it no longer available?

I don’t understand why the export for Navigon devices was dropped.
One of the reasons why I have supported this platform for years is (was) the easy export to Navigon.
Now I have to go through the hassle of converting the files with other programs — extra steps and extra sources of error.

Please give me back the Navigon export!

Regards
Michael

As far as I know, Navigon hasn’t been around for years.

The Navigon export was dropped because we completely rebuilt the export functionality. Every single file format would have had to be re-engineered, and the Navigon export was almost entirely unused. That’s why it wasn’t converted to the new system.

True, Navigon was bought out by Garmin because they were simply better — that’s how you get rid of the competition nowadays.

Navigon devices still work better today than all that NÜVI stuff.

I use Navigon devices to drive routes created with Kurviger.

As additional help in TSD rallies.

Hardly a better combination available.

Using a few strategically positioned waypoints, you drive the specified route, not whatever the GPS thinks is „better“.

It’s a pity about the lack of export support — I’ll have to look for another route planner then.

Was a paying supporter for at least 6 years…

This might help you out.

Best,

It’s a shame, but unfortunately, we can no longer support that format.

Where does your Navigon get its current maps?

Since regularity rallies are not held on new roads, a map update is not necessary.

Thanks!
I’m currently using https://www.routeconverter.com/ and it works okay.

Do you have any suggestions for another navigation device that will follow the exact route I put together in Kurviger?

Hi @68gt500,

Every navigation system calculates routes individually using its own algorithms, settings, and map/road data. Put simply: a 1:1 identical route can only ever be reliably guaranteed using the exact same system.
If you don’t want to navigate with your smartphone, you can also use Kurviger with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay . That might be worth considering. :light_bulb:
