i should have mentioned in drop down list of available maps
Thanks for reporting this. It seems we have to drop OSM.de style. We will bring back the regular OSM style though, it seems that one was removed on accident due to the recent changes.
That is very disappointing and also worrying. Let me explain the problems with using various maps (except OSM.de)
If you use kurviger osm- the small roads + land track access roads are much harder to see when route planning as they are white + white black border on a white/grey background. They get more pronounced when you zoom in, but by the time you are zoomed into the required level, you can see very little of the surrounding area. They need to be much more pronounced much earlier in the zoom level. I’m using a typical MacBook. On the phone screen, this would be exceptionally difficult.see screenshots.
The lack of contrast is the thing millions of users complained about on Google Maps when they changed the colour scheme.
The standard OSM (not de) uses the name of the town only in the indigenous language. As far as I am aware, this is set within the parameters. This means that whenever you use the map when travelling to another country unless you speak the language of the country you will have to be able to translate all the town names Plus everything else!! It is clear that this cannot be any kind of improvement and is only a detriment.
Is it possible to change this decision. I have been with Kurviger for many years and this will simply make route planning difficult.i use the planning to make hundreds of routes per year .
Kind regards
