Partial lack of speed limits during the tour

The application very often does not show the speed limit. I mean the maximum allowed speed in a given section. Even in a section where there is a problem-free internet connection and no problems with the GPS signal. If I switched to competing applications, such as Google or Calimoto, these applications display speed limits without any problems.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

If you mean, when the app shows “?” - then there is no data available in OSM. The best thing you can do is to add this information to OSM yourself or post here which sections need update and what is the allowed speed limit on which section.

Google uses it’s own data-source for speed limits, which is not available to Kurviger.

I have the same problem. Competing applications, in my case TomTom AmiGo in overlay mode, always shows the speed limits (same with google maps).

But to be honest, your solution is useless. When I’m riding my motorcycle, I don’t want to stop every few meters to tell you the speed limit. Especially since I’m not necessarily riding alone!

Also, don’t forget that I’m using the paid version of the app and that this is part of the advertised scope of services.

From my point of view, this is a paid service that is not being provided. I therefore believe that the provider is responsible for solving the problem, not passing it on to the users. When I read this, I immediately think that I’m being used as a beta tester.

Kurviger uses OpenStreetMap as its data source.
No map can be 100% accurate.
OSM has become better over the past years, but speed limits and temporary construction sites are still missing in many areas.

The big difference:
If you add something to OSM it belongs to all of us,
if you add something to Google it belongs to Google.
