I can understand that there must be a limit for the favorits-groups because of the app performance when they are shown on the map.
How about being able to import unlimited favorites into separate groups but not displayed on the map?
As an example, it would be possible to import 5,000 campsites. You don’t need to see them on the map. If you want to approach someone, a list of those near the position is sufficient.
I’ve been using this system for a long time on my Garmin with Basecamp and POI loader. (Favorites <> POI´s)
If you are working on a PC, you find the button for the overlay manager on the left upper side of the map.
Currently, the limit of favorites is limited to 300. The overlays allow at about 10000 points, or a certain amount of Megabyte. Yes, the more is shown, the more power is required.
The overlays can be loaded from different sources, like favorite folders, route folders, files and you can even add your current planned route as overlay.
The overlays can be hidden.
BTW: The overlay data is synched over all your devices. Not the gpx-files. When you delete an overlay you need the gpx-file again, for example.
Many thanks for the help. I assumed that loaded overlays would just lie on the card like an image. So contained elements such as POIs cannot be selected.
I’ve been planning big road trips with Basecamp for many years. I’ve gotten so used to the names they use.
I will try to plan and route the next trip with Kurviger. Thanks for the great work.
