Issues using the app with an external display

Dear community,
I use the app in conjunction with an external display via Android Auto and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, the connection occasionally drops for a few seconds. That wouldn’t be too much of an issue if the navigation simply resumed afterwards. The other app I use (Sygic) does this, but Kurviger reappears with a screen showing the map with the route as a track in the background, overlaid by two buttons prompting for input to select either “Search” or “Navigation”. Even that would be manageable (though my gloves aren’t touchscreen-compatible) if the buttons actually did something. Unfortunately, they don’t always do that; sometimes I have to use my phone to get the navigation going again. Has anyone experienced similar issues or even knows a solution? Maybe, as a newcomer, I’m just too thick to spot the solution hidden in the app settings…

Hi, the “abort” happens to me 3 times off-road over 22,000 km, otherwise never.
How is the display powered?

About 2 years ago, there was a spot in our neighborhood where the wireless connection with AA would reproducibly drop out up to a distance of 100 meters, both in the car and on the motorcycle. This lasted for several months and then, from one day to the next, it was gone. There must have been a strong transmitter somewhere nearby until it was turned off or repaired. So, if you’re out of luck, it can happen on a regular basis, but that has less to do with the actual question.

That „navigation“ didn’t work has been more of an exception so far, although the concept of „End“ and „Pause“ was slightly changed in the new 3.6.7 version — so I can well imagine that this might lead to further „exceptions“.

Automatic continuation of navigation is coming, see here:

Also in version 3.6.7, navigation automatically restarts once the connection is re-established after being dropped.

It’s definitely the Bluetooth/AA connection. The display remains powered and turned on the entire time, but then drops to the “connecting screen” and reconnects.

The Play Store only has 3.6.6, which is also installed on my phone.

Then just be patient for a few more days, Google doesn’t roll out updates to all users at the same time.

If you want to test right away, you can also join our BETA. To do this, go to the Kurviger app in the Play Store on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kurviger.app
