Problem Importing Waypoint Names from GPX File

I am new to Kurviger, and I really like it so far, but there’s one thing I can’t figure out. I’ve searched the forum topics and the FAQs, so sorry if this has already been answered. Since I’m still in the evaluation stage, I am using the free Web version of the Kurviger route planner, running on the Brave browser.

I have a planned trip, many days long, that was created in Garmin Basecamp, and then I exported the waypoints (not routes or tracks) into GPX files (one GPX file for each day of the trip). I can import files exported from Basecamp into Kurviger “Favorites” folders, and I get the waypoint names and other info (whether its a hotel, restaurant, museum, etc.) in Kurviger just fine. But if I import these same GPX files into a Kurviger route (as a new route or as extended), the waypoints just come in named with their GPS coordinates.

Two questions:

  1. How can I get the actual waypoint names from Basecamp to import into the Kurviger routes?

  2. How can I copy and paste (or drag and drop) waypoints from the Kurviger “Favorites” area into a Kurviger “Route”?

Thanks for any help.

Jack.

It appears that there is an issue with importing WPT names for the route right now, we will have a look, thanks for letting us know.

OK, thanks.

It is working today. Thanks for the quick fix!

Just to clarify, we have not fixed the import of WPT elements. It works GPX Route Points.

I discovered this morning that it works on most GPX files I have, but not all. I can’t determine the difference in the files. They were all created in exactly the same way. I can provide an example of a file that doesn’t work, if I knew where to send it.

I am pretty sure it is related to WP names vs. Route Point names. You can send me the GPX if you like (either publicly here or via PM).

Here is the problem GPX. (I think it’s attached - never did this before)

Ok, this contains only WPT elements and not Route Points, so it’s the issue we currently know about and will solve in the future :+1:
