Hello, I have a problem with Kurviger. it happens to me often during planning, not to be able to “cross” a village. I place a point, then, whatever the proximity of the next point, the route makes the complete tour of the mountain range to go to the next point. so half a turn! I give you an image representation: it is as if your watch, to go from 11:59 to 12:00, instead of advancing by a minute, was back 59 minutes! Whatever the set-ups, I never had the solution, except to truncate my itinerira in several…
Kurviger has good defaults. When you want to avoid nearly all types of roads, Kurviger still tries to find a way, but this can be much longer.
Avoid avoidances as best as possible, set only avoidances when you can say for yourselve “I need this, because ..”. In your case, ferries is one which would probably not pass this test.
One important restriction is “Current closures” (by TomTom). Switch it off to see the closures. When activated, you can not see why it makes detours.
Or how I would do it.
Try first to switch off all avoidances and have a look. Then fix main issues first like removing unnecessary waypoints (10+11?), set manual SP to drive around known closures. Check for each closure the validity date against your planned date.
Switch restriction (single or more). Double check and fix the route with shaping ponts until switching on / off restriction(s) does not change the route anymore.
I use avoidances merely as planning support. An avoidance affects not only segments, but the whole route. Sounds like a lot of work, it is not. You get even flexibility to decide.
