Rerouting ignores planned route and avoidance rules.

I planned 81 miles (~130km) trip, starting and ending in the same city but at different points.
While I was farthest down the route I needed fuel so I used POI to find the nearest station.
On the way from the station, the route was recalculated and I’ve been led back on the same roads for almost 40 miles. Not only was the original plan ignored, but avoidance rules to not use the same road twice.
Any advice on how to avoid this and what various values of avoidance riding the same road means? Thanks!

Good morning Pikor,
welcome to Kurviger Forum

Did you do that in navigation mode by tapping on the 3 dots? Should look like this:

After tapping on the ‘Add to route’ button the gas station is added to the actual route

So there should be no significant change to the originally planned route.

I hope the above explanation helps the next time. Regarding avoidances - use them as less as possible (regardless which one) the algorithm of various route options (fastest → extra curvy) should already do the job.

Hello Guenther,

I did exactly that to find the nearest station. The recording looks like this: (blue was planned return and pink was as navigated back on the way I came from. When planning I set avoiding using the same road.

Hi Pikor,

I see only one shaping point. As your destination point varies from starting point I think the algorithm sees this slight deviation as a different route.
My recommendation: set some additional shaping points on the complete route and the problem should vanish.
