Hi,
I experienced this now for several times:
I start following a round trip, everything’s fine until I encounter some change:
- The first time, my considered ice-cream stand wasn't there, so I changed the route to an other,
- the second time there was a road only open for bicycles, so I had to detour,
- the third time we were enjoying a meal at the planned destination, so no change of route, no deviation, but a longer break
but every time the navigation followed the the first half back instead of the planned route.
I only have the route and the track from the last encounter:
The Route: Planned route
The Track : The track (I imported the track as a route for this link, don’t know if there’s another way)
I stopped at some point and had a new route calculated to our start point, so the track ends there.
Something I did along the way to confuse Kurviger (and me)?
Cheers Martin
Yes, you can save the track as a GPX file and post it here.
Here are some infos to try to understand what happened:
-
Every time Kurviger recalculates a route it may give you a completely different route to the one you have initially planned. This is especially visible on the round trips with less waypoints.
-
Although Kurviger tracks your movement and presumably “knows” where you have already been, it does not take this information into consideration when recalculating the route and may send you back the same way came after the recalculation.
In your example - your route back from WP2 does not have any waypoints on it. If the route is recalculated after WP2, you may end up riding home the same way you came.
Workarounds:
- place additional shaping points on the route to retain the original planning.
- alternatively, switch off the automatic recalculation.

Ah, I see.
I will try next time, thank you.
