Hi it looks like the website has a problem? Please refer to the screenshot
1/ in the open pane It says some nonsense like ¥10,000 is ¥10,000
2/ if you look at the blue Route-to the left of this it’s suggest an alternative in faded blue. It is suddenly starting to do this and the route is nonsense because it is just a weird deviation. it has done it on other routes. Is this a problem with the website or some kind of strange option on an updated website. If so how do I switch it off?

You have selected “All curvy route modes” - select something else and the alternatives will disappear.
Regarding ¥ exchange rates - I have no clue - I am not an expert for international currecy… 
Mhm, I have never seen this issue. Are you maybe using the translate feature? I can see that in the URL-bar on the right, if this is translated, try to use the English version.
Does it work with a different browser?
