When I do a round trip and the trip comes back on the same road, I get sometimes confused by the blue trip line, especially at complex roundabouts or crossroads. It is very hard to tell which is the way to go ahead and which is the way coming back.
I propose to add a limit (maybe configurable) on the length of the road that is shown in 3D navigation mode. If I could limit it to say 500m/1km, then I can still see forward quite far that I can find the right path to follow. Probably it is also easier for you if you do not have to render on the screen 100-s of kilometers path - which is anyway irrelevant for the navigation.

Thanks for the feedback, and I completely understand the issue you’re describing.
Your proposed solution doesn’t quite fit for us because showing only part of the route can be inconvenient when zooming out to get an overview or when wanting to see whether you’re currently on or close to a section of the route that belongs to your way back. We wouldn’t want to remove that information from the map, as it could create more confusion rather than less.
That said, we are already aware of the issue and are considering other possible solutions to make it clearer which route segment you are currently supposed to follow and which one represents the return route.
Another hint. Normally white arrows on the route should guide you through such sections. When you choose a zoom level too low to get an overview, details are suppressed, and also this white arrow.
Maybe another idea could be that the road directly ahead can be coloured with different shade of blue or another color, or animate it somehow (arrows moving ahead). Then the whole path is still visible when zooming out, but it is clear which is the part that comes next.
Thanks for the link! I like the arrows, but when I navigate on my phone then those static arrows are visible enough for me. If they would be animated, then maybe they would be better visible. Some larger, more visible thing would be better, like the large arrow in at turns.
Maybe an animation like this, merged into the blue path.
