Show WPs in overlays for cloud routes

Current situation

If I load a GPX file that contains Waypoints as an overlay, it is possible to show those separately from the route. Then, I can select and insert them as WP in the route I am currently planning:

Routes in the cloud also contain waypoints, but it is not possible to display them as overlay - only the route line is displayed:

Proposal:

allow WPs from cloud routes to be displayed as well. Maybe instead “Track/Route/Waypoints”, the display choice could be “Route/Shaping-Points/Via-Points”. Shaping points separately (de)selactable, in case the map gets too cluttered.

Benefit:

If I already have several routes in the cloud folder for a certain region (e.g. self-planned and/or imported from different GPX sources), I could get a quck overview of the interesting places even if I do not take time to manage those as favourites.

Thanks for bringing this up. Please everyone, feel free to discuss about this and if you would need something like this.

In principle, it’s standard practice when planning tours to initially collect points of interest (POIs) from various sources, preferably from external sources (e.g. GPX files).

Indeed, it would be helpful to have an option when loading overlays that could optionally display GPX-rtept entries as waypoints (similar to GPX-wpt). As far as I can tell, GPX files from Garmin don’t contain GPX-wpt entries.

I would like to see a similar feature for importing favorites, so that GPX-rtept entries could be recognized as POIs.

Nice idea! Just checked some of my old routes and test files (gpx with waypoints, route and track), and would be helpful.

Adding POI while Navigation is on list of Planned features. I could imagine, that these points are added as of type Waypoint in the track? So perhaps not only for cloud routes, but also for recorded tracks useful, to be ready for even more ideas ..

I think it off-topic as not Kurviger-Cloud related, but related to the Import-Manager. Nevertheless, it is a wish from me, that the Import-Manager can import any gpx, and offers more options dependant on the content, not only to create a new route.
