Speed Limit Display Issues - USA Maps

I just came back from a Sunday tour. Here a few issues that I observed:

1.) The speed limits were not always displayed or incorrectly display. Here are few examples: A 35 mph speed limit was display as 34 mph. A 20 mph was displayed as 21 mph. Many time did I see a ?.

2.) When I exceeded the speed limit significantly, the current speed was displayed in yellow. Unfortunately, the yellow font was not readable. A darker yellow would fix this issue.

Hi Tohau,

the actual speedlimit is based on the data of OSM, do you maybe have a short link of your route for us to double check?

When you exceed the speed limit significantly, it first turns yellow, if you go faster in turn red again However, with the next release this bug will be fixed.

I just checked your route on the website with following result:

So it is normal, that you will get a ? in areas where no data is available.

But I have no clue regarding the shown deviations of speed limit value in OSM vs. what was showing up at your end. Could you maybe try to reproduce it to give us some more ‘food’ for this case?

I checked the route. It seems it is caused by a rounding issue from km to miles. A possible solution could be to round up/down to 5 miles/h or km/h. From OSM-taginfo for maxspeed this would be valid for about 99%. There are some few exceptions; in my head summed up to only about 1 percent.

Yes, that’s a good point, rounding to the closest 5 would probably help quite a bit here

If you could fix it, it would be great. It is a bit irritating when I see the strange speed limit numbers.

Could you also change the color code of the actual speed when I am slightly over the speed limit. The light yellow is hard to see on a light-gray background.

Yes, that will be fixed very soon, that is currently a known issue.

Kleine Anmerkung zu dem Thema:
Wir wollten das Problem mit der “Gelben” unlesbaren Anzeige auch bereits anmerken was aber hier schon geschehen ist und wohl demnächst behoben wird.
Des weiteren stört es uns sehr das die Anzeige dann erst bei einer Übertretung von mehr als 20 km/h auf “Rot” umschaltet. Ja ich weiss was jetzt einige von euch denken, “Dann fahr doch ordentlich und halte dich an die Vorgaben.” Ist ja richtig, aber beim Töff fahren ist man schnell mal schneller als erlaubt. Wenn dann aber die Warnung erst bei mehr als 20 km/h zu sehen ist, ist das nicht gut.
Lange Rede, kurzer Sinn; Könntet ihr bitte die Anzeige bei bereits mehr als 11 km/h auf “Rot” umstellen?

Das Gelb wird jetzt dann eher Richtung Orange, das fällt dann gleich deutlich mehr auf

I tested the version 3.5.2. The displayed speed limited for 55 mph is still incorrectly displayed as 56 mph.

We haven’t changed the rounding here yet. We fixed the color, if you are going too fast.
