The route history can contain about 30 entries as far as I know, which is a quite a lot and sometimes I just want to clean it as it it messed with temporary planning.
Suggestion: Please add a Button Clear Route History. To avoid unintentionally deleting the history, I would propose to place the button and the end. Optionally a simple dialogue Are you sure?.
Definitely. I also find much clutter from interim planning there, which reduces the value of this finction. Being able to clean it up manually would be more than welcome.
From my point a definitely yes, as I have to press up to 30 times.
Another issue is from my point, that the history is sorted by last change. For example, when you split a route, the original route is somewhere down in the history and you have scroll and guess by the picture. So I first want to clean, then add again what I need in the history.
Yes, but it is not something that you need to do every day and it takes less than 15 seconds to perform those 30 taps… I just measured the time, there are no noticable delays or questions that you have to answer in-between.
I’d prefer if the developers would spend some time on adding bulk export of tracked rides - this is where a cleanup requires much more effort.
I also see this as beneficial.
It’s like an expected software-standard in lists to have the option for selecting/deleting “all”.
For sure not a #1 priority, but usefull.
This is the current situation, when selecting a route from the not-at-the-top-entries in the history list.
At other situations like (A) Importing or (B) Loading from cloud or (C) Planning a route then the actual route is set to the top of the history list.
Proposal: When selecting a route from the not-at-the-top-entries in the history list, then set this entry at the top of the history list, like when importing, loading from cloud or creating a new route.
(Some people will remember to this proposal in an other thread .)
.
When the route from history selected from history list is set to the top of the history list, then you don’t have to struggle with unnecessarry steps.
When you want cleaning of the list then this is easy possible at any time with the X to delete the no more needed entries.
I am fully aware, but I want to clean it to start. I could also delete local data to get rid of it. I was frightend, someone proposes this. Please do not.
Deleting local data should not be necessary at all.
At the end of the day, the history is in most cases obsolete, unless someone needs it for offline cases.
Yes sure, but why would you care if there is a history or not? We do have multiple histories for different things, also for the last searches etc. - I haven’t fully understood why you would want to remove everything and if you really want to, why not using the delete local planning data feature?
I did not say, that I want to remove everything. Deleting local data deletes “all data” (what is all?), i am logged out (why should I want this?) and I have no issues with my account. Deleting local data is no option.
Can you explain this? Why would you care about this? If you know what you want, why not use the cloud or .kurviger files?
Yes, I can understand this 100%. This is a very special case though?
We could reduce the history to just 10 items or so, but I see the route history as an emergency route restoration tool that I use either to find an old route that I missed to save or to go back to the last route that I planned.
I don’t really understand the use case of cleaning it up .
Nooooooooooooooooooo… I am just getting used to the function.
I guess it is just for the sake of beeing able to clean it up quickly, rather than having to perform 30-Taps exercise.
If you want to preload your routes for offline use, it does not really matter if the list is empty or not, they will just stack on top of the list. If you want to clean up your test cases and leave some contents - this is not where this function will help you, as you have to delete them individually anyway.
I do not have anything against this “clean-up button” but it is probably not something that I would use very often.
