Switch from Garmin XT2 to Carpuride W702BS & Kurviger

Hi There,

I recently started using a Carpuride w702BS.
This is basically a Google Car / Car play system. So my phone APP will be my new navigation.

I bump into some questions.

When loading a route in Kurviger I notice that an existing route in the cloud storage loads it as a route and a dotted line, the orriginal path.
Why is the route being changed, it is not exactly like the orriginal route, also created in Kurviger.

I struggle starting the route.
When I load a route I can add my current position as a startpoint.
But in that screen I can not alter the routing options for this first section. My route starts at the Scenic part. Driving from home to the start-point I want to do by Highway.

First I need to start the route, then stop it, then I can change the routing options then I can Start it again. Is that correct?

Last, but not least.
Is it possible to load the track as an overlay during navigation?
Like this is possible in Garmin XT2? That is a very usefull functionality

I recommend whaching some of the tutorials on Kurviger YouTube channel to get you started with the basics. Those should answer your questions and give you even more useful information.

We recently improved this, for newer routes these are now loaded as planned.

You can also manually change the route, tap on the map at your current location and press the Start button.

Overlays in Android Auto don’t work perfectly yet, this is still missing but will be improved in the future.

Thanks

I am a long time user of Kurviger route planner.
Just not as a Bike navigation.
I am aware I just need to start using it to get used to it and discover…

So older Routes might differ from the original planned path?

I will add a short screen capture demonstrate what i mean

There was a long discussion about this here. Loading "old routes from cloud are automatically recalculated (blocked roads, new speed limits etc.). Newly saved routes are loaded as-is, but a recalculation may lead to other results. Since 3.5.5 in thr app.

Yes, you cannot choose options here. As alternative extend in planing mode first your route from your starting point, edit the options then start navigation. The 3 start-options should not pop up.

You can add manually an overlay for your current route; It is visible in the navigation. I have not double checked for AA, but Robin gave a hint, please double check.

Overlay Manager - Add Overlay

Then…

Navigation (here Android)

Edit
What you see in the last demo in your video: When you start your navigation and pause, the current route / status is saved. This is the reason you could then change the curviness.

Double check route history. It is quite new behaviour and very useful when you do some free-riding. This way your last position becomes the new starting point. The changes (e.g. by recalculation while navigation) can be checked or even can be reversed by Menu - Undo.

Thanks a lot.

I wasn’t aware I could load the route as overlay saperately.
That works fine.

You can do It as shown in your.post.
But also in the load section.

I just simulated on the Carpuride.
The overlay shows just fine. :+1:t2::+1:t2:
