The real follow mode

I know it might sound a bit far fetched, but maybe you can still put it in the backlog for later days.

In today’s “follow mode” you are not really following anyone, you are basically creating a track of your ride…
How about having a real follow mode, where you could follow the real time track of someone else? When riding in a larger group it happens sometimes that you get stuck at the traffic light or are unable to overtake a slow vehicle and lose your group… if it would be possible for the tour guide to leave a “trail of pebbels” that everyone could follow, then noone from the group would ever get lost by taking a wrong turn.

For sure, it would need some intensive mobile data traffic, but might still be possible. What do you think?

You can try RTT2.

To avoid track clutter: Limit track age or lenght.
Offline map: Set mapsforge vector map (Kurviger 1_2)

Hello,
what is exactly your requirement? If everybody has the same route, would’t it be enough to follow the route up to the point where you join the rest of the group?
Do you ask for a distance for example?
Or your use case is riding is follow mode in group?
