when I start navigation using multiple coordinates, I rename them.
However, once I pass those points, they are converted back to plain coordinates in the waypoint list, and my custom descriptions are lost.
Can you explain in more detail? I do not understand what exactly are you doing and how the names get lost. Maybe a short screen recording would help explain?
Sorry, I can’t provide more details. I noticed it today during my ride, but I believe it’s due to a combination of route recalculation and a lack of 4G signal.
You can check if you still have these events on your phone.
First, you go to “Route History” and select the route that you have navigated (even if it appears different to your originally planned route).
Second, you could use the “undo” function to move back and forth through the changes that were made to this route - either in the planning mode or during the navigation. This feature, that you can use undo in several different routes found in the route history was something very unusual and unexpected for me, but in some cases also very useful.
Going through the recalculation history, maybe you could better understand how and why your route evolved. If you notice that there was a loss of data (e.g., waypoint names) please make some screenshots to give the developers a clue, what to look for.
I’m fairly convinced that if I rename waypoints and then end or pause the trip without an internet connection,
the waypoint names are stored only online, not locally on the device.
I’ll pay more attention next time.
