By clustering the markers, we can put a large number of markers on the map without making the map hard to read and hurting app performance.
Useful with bookmarks, GPX waypoints, offline search, etc.
GPX-Datei mit vollen Namen from Alpenrouten (1635 waypoints)
Offline search with Berlin POI displaying all 20898 amenities
Cluster analysis or clustering is the task of grouping a set of objects in such a way that objects in the same group (called a cluster) are more similar (in some specific sense defined by the analyst) to each other than to those in other groups (clusters). Great! I have disabled most of POIs now because of this problem.
The clustering is about marker overlays on the map.
Not POI symbols in the map (i.e. Map layers). The solution there is show POI on larger zoom.
Available in Kurviger 1.13.16 (Beta) .
Adjustable in “Settings | Map | Maximum zoom level of marker groups”.
Next version will have an enhanced “Settings | Map | Maximum zoom level of marker groups”
preference with more zoom levels and will be able to completely disable the marker groups.
Implemented in Kurviger 1.13.17 .
