How can switch from Point to an Arrow?
I’ve seen this topic, but unfortunately there is no explanation App: Location marker / arrow appearance
Direction comes from device sensors (GPS, compass, etc).
GPS direction works when user moves with sufficient speed.
In navigation or follow location modes the direction is displayed with an arrow.

The trick was to change from Android to Google in Settings → Location → Location service
