In May 2023 there was a high contrast map introduced in app, but that map was used in navigation mode only. Therefore my proposal.
Remark: A short search in the forum for “high contrast map” shows you the anouncement;
Navigation (App): Increased map contrast and map readability. Roads have a better visibility.
