I am using the Beta version and I’ve been trying to find option to enable Compass while navigating, but failed. Is it really missing? How can such a basic navi function be missing?

It was available in the App as a “Compass-Button”…

I see the Kurviger team pursue the idea of enshitification of the app. Instead of fixing broken functionalities (like totally non-functional ETA - which is comical in a nav app), they choose to remove useful features like compass or display of useful trip metrics (which was replaced entirely with broken ETA).
Do you happen to know what was the last app version to have the compass needle?
You should try thinking about what you’re writing. Kurviger knows full well, from surveys of its users, what is needed and what isn’t. Just because a compass is important to you doesn’t mean it has to be for others, and your inappropriate tone regarding ETA isn’t helpful either.
You must be joking. Compass is the basic function of a nav app and the thread you linked yourself shows it is key for most users.
Also, ETA has been ridiculously broken and useless since years, and all the Dev team did in threads where users complained about it, is gaslight that it’s not an important feature. So I though long and hard for years about what I am writing here. Now, maybe you should do the same.

At the end the developers decide - and they read everything. So bringing up again is fine, but the tone and double posting is not pleasent.

You would loose the “current road closures” , that were introduced in the last version, should you choose to revert to older version.
The best way to give feedback to the developers would be to explain your use case or a specific problem that you have encountered. They read and answer.
Regarding compass - it appears that there are quite a big opinion differences - there are those that find it important (even essential), and those that don’t ever use it and haven’t even noticed it was gone. I personally find it useful, but not essential and hope it will return in some form. If it was very important, I would probably not rely on an app for having it.

Maybe they do read, but this forum thought me over the years the devs don’t care much about paid users’ feedback.
One example is the compass thread which is already 4 months old, filled with users who need compass, yet devs did not care to even post they will reintroduce it as an option.
Another example is the ETA issue. Kurviger from the start gives nonsensical ETA for routes - a 2h route on asphalt can be estimated by Kurviger from anything form 4 to 10 hours - making the feature completely useless. This issue has been reported by users for years now, since least 2023. And all the devs do so far is say “we don’t see it as priority”. How ETA is not a priority but an unimportant feature not touched for years for a nav app blows my mind.

Which is exactly the scenario to make it an option in settings, instead of removing it completely.

As mentioned earlier, the team reads all posts and responds to or comments on them. Please be patient.
I am sorry that you feel this way. I’d say we care a lot about what our users need with constant updates and improvements. We can’t do everything at once though.
I mentioned that we will look into this and we moved the topic into Discussion > Planned features which is where we keep features we plan to include.

I’d like to learn how you - the development team - established the users’ needs to include:
- sacrificing the compass on the altar of new design
- remove from that new design useful things like “Time Elapsed” or “Distance elapsed”
- leave only one option for the the new design: “ETA” - which has been completely broken in every of hundreds of trips I planned/made with Kurviger in the last 3 years
- determined that all the above is more needed than fixing the ETA, even with the most basic and simple to implement hack, like whenever the OSM data shows no data on speed limit on paved road, assume 60km/h.
This is an honest question. I have no clue how are you determining what the users actually want. In the three years I’ve been a premium user, I have not once received any questionnaire from Kurviger asking me what features I’d like to see, and which I’d like to have removed/changed.
I can only see forum threads, those I linked above, and they are either continue to not be implemented (Compass), or actively ignored since years (broken ETA).
