We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.2 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several improvements:

  • Navigation: Settings for the map orientation, you can choose between, 2d, 3d, and north.
  • Navigation: Improved zoom behaviour, especially in landscape mode.
  • Navigation: Setting for the voice instructions, you can enable/disable them in the settings.
  • Planning: Route details are now shown during the planing, you can change which details are shown in the settings.
  • Planning: The GPS position is now shown on the map. When you place a destination on the map, without any route, a new route will be calculated from your current location.
  • Planning: Avoid zooming to the whole route after returning from the fullscreen top-widget.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.3 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several improvements:

  • Navigation: Improved voice instructions, speak instructions matching the shown distance and don’t speak road references anymore.
  • Navigation: Show all curvy routes during the navigation.
  • Navigation: Make skipping parts of the route smoother.
  • Navigation: The turn arrow is now shown clearer on the map.
  • Navigation: Improved offroute behaviour.
  • Navigation: Fix initial route zoom when starting the navigation.
  • Navigation: Improved Beeline Navigation.
  • Planning: Improve import and export of routes.
  • Map: Kurviger Liberty, improved road visibility and map readability.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.4 of the Kurviger Beta App.

To give you a quick peek, what the new UI looks like:

This update comes with several improvements:

  • Navigation (App): New navigation UI optimised for motorcycle navigation.
    • Display space is now optimised on showing more of the route, especially for landscape navigation.
    • ETA, duration, distance to the next via point and destination are shown.
    • Zoom-Buttons to quickly zoom in and out.
    • New location marker that shows the current location more clearly.
    • Additional information like speed or altitude are shown.
  • Navigation (App): Action button to skip the next waypoint (shaping or via).
  • Navigation (App): A navigation can be started everywhere on the route, so you can continue a navigation after a stop.
  • Navigation (App): It’s possible to switch between different curvy routes during the navigation by tapping on it.
  • Navigation (App): Name for via and shaping points are spoken during the navigation.
  • Planning (App): New action button on the map to make it easy to reach important actions fast.
  • Planning (App): Switching map layers has been completely reworked.
  • Planning (App): Fixed an issue that could lead to issues when switching the language.
  • Planning (App): Improve usage on tablets.
  • Planning (App): Fix Drag&Drop in the waypoint list.
  • Planning: Instruction list can be filtered to only show waypoints or via points.

We have tested the new UI on a lot of different devices. There is a huge amount of different devices out there. If there are issues with the new UI on your device, please let us know and provide more information about your device (see the debug info in the settings).

In the future we will offer more options to customise the UI.

Wir haben die neue UI auf vielen verschiedenen Geräte ausgiebig getestet. Es gibt allerdings tausende verschiedene Android-Geräte. Sollte etwas mit der neuen UI auf deinem Gerät nicht wie erwartet funktionieren, dann gib uns doch bitte genauere Informationen über dein Gerät (siehe auch die Debug-Informationen in den Einstellungen)

In der Zukunft wird es dann noch Optionen geben um die Darstellung der UI weiter anzupassen.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.5 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several changes and improvements:

  • Navigation (App): Allow to optionally zoom using the volume buttons
  • Navigation (App): Fixed an issue that could lead to voice instructions being spoken twice.
  • Navigation (App): Fix a bug that could lead to showing the wrong via point name.
  • Planning (App): Load previous route on app start without asking and without requiring an internet connection.
  • Planning: Import .kurviger files without requiring an internet connection and without recalculating the planned route.
  • Planning: Improved Drag&Drop in the waypoint list.
  • Planning (App): Allow to clear route or overlay, even if the route has not been successfully calculated.
  • Planning: Increase map max zoom.
  • Planning(App): Improved fullscreen handling, when you place a point in map fullscreen, the app goes back to fullscreen again afterwards.
  • Planning(App): Increased click areas for several icons like <or the menu icon.
  • Planning(App): Improved offline behaviour.
  • Planning(App): Moving of points does not trigger a route zoom.
  • Planning(App): It’s possible to switch from extending to setting the start/end.
  • Planning(App): Set the route start automatically when setting the destination when using the waypoint list.

Loading .kurviger files offline was a big change. When you load an old file, som information for the route might be missing. So there can be issues in the route planning as well as navigation. These can be fixed when you recalculate the route. We are showing an info about this in the app. If you have a .kurviger file that does not work at all, please let us know and provide the file so we can check what is going on.

Das Laden von .kurviger Dateien ohne Internet-Verbindung ist eine größere Änderung. Wenn alte .kurviger Dateien geladen werden, kann es sein, dass nicht alle Informationen zur Verfügung stehen. Es kann also zu Problemen bei der Routeplanungs-Ansicht bzw. bei der Navigation kommen. Diese Probleme lassen sich durch eine Neuberechnung beheben. Wir zeigen dazu auch eine entsprechende Info in der App. Solltet ihr eine .kurviger Datei haben, die sich nicht laden lässt, dann würde ich euch bitten uns diese Datei mit weiteren Informationen zukommen zu lassen.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.7 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several changes and improvements:

  • Follow (App): Without a planned route, you can use the follow mode to ride freely and just view the map while riding.
  • Navigation (App): Reduced battery usage during the navigation.
  • Navigation (App): Voice output of street names can be configured to yes, no, and automatic. Automatic reduces the occurrence the street name is spoken, so it is only spoken once.
  • Navigation (App): 2km voice instruction is only spoken for very long stretches of road (like a motorway).
  • Navigation (App): Shaping-Points are not spoken anymore, they are still shown.
  • Navigation (App): (…)-menu shows state of voice output muted / unmuted.
  • Planning: Address is not removed anymore when waypoints are snapped to the closest road.

Dieses Update bringt einige Änderungen und Verbesserungen mit sich:

  • Follow (App): Ohne eine geplante Route kannst du den Follow-Modus nutzen, um frei zu fahren und während der Fahr die Karte zu sehen.
  • Navigation (App): Reduzierter Akkuverbrauch während der Navigation.
  • Navigation (App): Die Sprachausgabe von Straßennamen kann auf ja, nein und automatisch eingestellt werden. Automatisch reduziert die Häufigkeit, mit der der Straßenname gesprochen wird, so dass der Straßenname nur einmal gesprochen wird.
  • Navigation (App): Die 2km-Sprachanweisung wird nur bei sehr langen Straßenabschnitten (z.B. Autobahn) gesprochen.
  • Navigation (App): Shaping-Points werden nicht mehr gesprochen, sondern nur noch angezeigt.
  • Navigation (App): (…)-Menü zeigt den Status der Sprachausgabe stumm / laut.
  • Planung: Die Adresse wird nicht mehr entfernt, wenn Wegpunkte auf die nächstgelegene Straße gesetzt werden.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.8 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several changes and improvements:

  • Navigation (App): Reduced battery usage during the navigation.
  • Navigation (App): Reduced delay of the GPS position while being on the route.
  • Navigation (App): Offroute-Arrow that shows to the next unvisited via point, when being off-route.
  • Navigation (App): Increased map contrast and map readability. Roads have a better visibility.
  • Navigation (App): Show direction of route during the navigation.
  • Navigation (App): Setting to switch the location service between Android and Google.
  • Navigation (App): “Then” voice instruction for turns that are close to each other. Now an instruction is spoken like “In 300m turn left, then turn right”.
  • Navigation (App): Improved voice instructions, especially in combination with Bluetooth headsets.
  • Kurviger Liberty: Housenumbers are shown on high zoom levels.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.9 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several changes and improvements:

  • Navigation (App): Manual rerouting is now possible with a button.
  • Navigation (App): Recenter can be configured to automatically trigger after some time passed.
  • Navigation (App): Fixed a bug that could lead to the off-route arrow pointing in the wrong direction.
  • Navigation (App): Off-route arrow is now pointing to the next unvisited via or shaping point.
  • Navigation (App): Navigation panels and buttons have a slight transparency.

We are happy to announce that we released version 3.0.10 of the Kurviger Beta App.

This update comes with several changes and improvements:

  • Navigation (App): Roundabout exits show the exit number inside the roundabout icon.
  • Navigation (App): Roundabout icon shows the correct direction in left-hand traffic.
  • Navigation (App): Improved Android notification handling.
  • Planning (App): Improved finding the current location when planning.
  • Planning (App): Long press on the map triggers the exact positioning mode straight away.
  • Planning (App): Further increased some click areas (for example for the menu button).

In order to keep this thread clean, I would like to ask you to provide feedback in the discussion thread for the release . For specific issues or feature requests, I would like to ask you to create a separate thread. You can find more about the current BETA state in our documentation. It might take a few hours until the new update shows up in Google Play.

Dieses Update bringt einige Änderungen und Verbesserungen mit sich:

  • Navigation (App): Ausfahrten im Kreisverkehr zeigen die Nummer der Ausfahrt im Kreisverkehrssymbol an.
  • Navigation (App): Das Kreisverkehrssymbol zeigt die richtige Richtung im Linksverkehr an.
  • Navigation (App): Verbesserte Handhabung von Android-Benachrichtigungen.
  • Planung (App): Verbessertes Finden des aktuellen Standorts bei der Planung.
  • Planung (App): Langes Drücken auf der Karte löst sofort den genauen Positionierungsmodus aus.
  • Planung (App): Einige Klickbereiche wurden weiter vergrößert (z.B. für das Menü).

Um diesen Thread aufgeräumt zu halten, würden wir euch bitten,Feedback im Diskussions-Thread für diese Version zu geben. Bei Anfragen oder Problemen zu einem speziellen Feature würde ich euch bitten einen extra Beitrag anzulegen. Informationen zum aktuellen Beta-Status findet ihr in unserer Dokumentation. Es kann ein paar Stunden dauern bis das Update in Google Play angezeigt wird.
